About Me
Maeve McTaggart is a twenty-year-old undergraduate student at University College Cork, studying to achieve a joint Bachelors degree in Politics and English. She hopes to enter a career in political journalism.
For the academic year of 2019/20, Maeve was the Current Affairs Editor of the award-winning student publication Motley Magazine, facilitating conversations on global, cross-border political and cultural issues while ensuring their accessibility to a broader student body. Three times nominated at the 2019 Student Media Awards for her written and broadcast journalism, Maeve strives to endow every story with empathy, every voice with a platform. A SMART Consent workshop facilitator, Spunout.ie Regional Action Panel and Jigsaw Youth Advisory Panel member, she is committed to making her campus and community a better place than when she found it through her dedication to promoting a dialogue that will end sexual violence, raise awareness around mental health and promote political participation in young people.
